Sniffing offers up an intense aromatic profile of black plum, liquorice and black cherries over toasty vanillin cedar and spicy pepper notes. Showing off Rank & File’s hallmark flamboyance and richness this big, lavish Clare Shiraz is swamped with opulent blackberry liqueur, liquorice, dark plum and luscious black cherry flavours which are supported by underlying toasty vanillin cedar and spicy pepper characters. There’s a sturdiness to the tannins which impart a slight sense of chewiness to the finish, yet they appear almost velvet like beneath the tidal waves of black fruit.
