Description
Possessing superb depth of colour this wine has an inky black core along with a deep dark red black hue. Fragrant aromas of ripe red and black currant as well as mulberries laced with a hint of mint sail from the glass. Also evident are faint earth and spicy cedar elements. Medium bodied and elegant this is a slightly more restrained Outpost with a distinct mint nuance overlaying blackcurrant and mulberry flavours. Underpinning the ample amounts of fruit are cedary tobacco characters, subtle black olives and spice. Dry tightly knit finish. Slightly chalky, yet fine grained tannins and bright acidity providing plenty of structure. Medium to long conclusion of blackcurrant infused with mint, subtle cedary tobacco characters, black olive and spice. A very structured and refined Cabernet from Mr Riggs that will require some patience.
